Motivations Part 3, More Wheeler

Went through Wheeler’s paper “Information, Physics, Quantum: The Search For Links“ this week. It does appear to be one of the main papers setting the stage for the CTMU, in a lot of ways setting up the main question to be answered. This paper includes the three questions, four no’s, and five clues as well as the main challenge to deduce the quantum from an understanding of existence. This is also the paper where the phrase “It from Bit“ comes from. Lofty ideas. This paper sets forward that we must translate the language of continuum physics into information theory. Wheeler has a peculiar style, bouncing back and forth between technical explanations, philosophical questions, rules of thumb, and poetic rampages; it’s quite the read and I would recommend it.
